Who's to blame for the surge in gas prices?

by Joseph Malek

Created on: March 16, 2009

Who can state, with absolute certainty, when the price for a gallon of gasoline will rise to levels of three months prior to the date of this story, which currently is 3/16/09? One must truly have the ability to see into the future. If so, that person must be one of the richest people on this Earth and probably could care less about what might happen to the majority of the Human Beings that currently live upon this planet.

Such has been the attitude of those people who own and control the multinational oil corporations on this planet, together with those people who speculate by buying or selling oil future contracts, as listed on the various free trade financial markets.

You see, they, like that seer into the future, will become even richer than most of them are today. As a matter of fact, falling oil prices, due to lack of demand, so they claim, is causing some of those people to reduce production of oil products to again create a market shortage which then will cause the price to rise from its current level.

In other words, they don't care about anyone but themselves, regardless of if a World-wide depression is the final result of their greedy behavior. When thinking about such behavior the word "Extortion" comes to mind. Price gouging is also a criminal offense within most of the States that are a part of the United States of America.

So now the price for gasoline is currently rising, in spite of the fact that those huge multinational oil corporations still are earning huge profits. If they lost revenue, due to the recent drop of such prices that would be an entirely different matter. However, that is not the case, and for as far back as I can remember, they always were profitable business enterprises.

The truth of the matter is the fact that there is no real reason for why the price of gasoline increased to as high a $4.00 per gallon within some places of our Country. Then again, it can be proved that the owners and the controllers of those huge multinational oil corporations themselves created the conditions that then caused the price to rise.

In my opinion, that sure looks like criminal behavior to me. Then again, do bears relieve themselves in a forest? Yes they do, even if we don't see those events take place. We surely didn't see a whole lot of what those oil people were doing either, but we all know that they are earning billions of dollars of our money that can better be spent for other essential goods and services.

In view of all of the above, it is my prediction that the price of gas will slowly buy surely rise until the majority of the people force their elected politicians to fully investigate the behavior of those oil people and then take positive measures to again reduce those prices to a reasonable level. It is entirely possible that the rapid rise of those prices was a secret attempt to destroy the economies of every Country that has in place a Democratic form of Government. That too, remains to be proved and I wouldn't be surprised if a whole lot of oil people then spend the rest of their life in a prison.
