Traveling with kids in Las Vegas

Road, Las Vegas, NV 89139

As with most things Vegas style, this Aquarium is huge! Home to over 4000 tropical fish this intriguing aquarium is octagonal, allowing viewing from all sides. Three times a day the staff marine biologists dive wearing special face masks that allow them to take question and answer sessions underwater. A trip to the Bass Pro Shop is certainly worth while. It houses yet more aquariums, housing native fish, turtles and water fowl in some incredibly well designed habitats.

The Stratosphere

This towering landmark of a hotel offers plenty of heart pounding thrills and excitement. To cap it all, their roller coasters are set at the top of the tallest building to be found along the Las Vegas Strip. The Big Shot, aptly named, rockets you 160 feet up. It reaches a nose bleed inducing height of 1,081 feet above ground level. It is not one for the feint hearted and not suitable for young children. The same goes for most of the rides unfortunately, but if your kids are brave, and the right height, it will be a memory that will last. In any event the Observation Deck offers a birds eye view of the Strip.

Bellagio Hotel

One of Bellagio's best known and loved attractions is Cirque Du Soleil's Show O. This stunning performance features world class acrobats, divers and synchronized swimmers. It is a stunning timeless show that enchants and stuns it's audience. Bellagio is also home to the Conservatory and Botanical gardens and the Gallery of Fine Art. Both attractions offer great value, the gardens are free to all and the gallery is free for the under 12's. The Fountains at the Bellagio are the icing on the cake. Every 15 to 30 minutes they blast into action with a light, sound and water show that is second to none. It is a stunning sight and enchanting for children.

The Flamingo

The Flamingo has a fantastic resort style Pool. It is set in 15 tropically landscaped acres, with waterfalls and a water slide.

Caesars Palace
3570 South Las Vegas Boulevard, Las Vegas, NV 89109

The Fall of Atlantis and Festival Fountain shows at Caesars Forum Shops is one not to miss, and yet again it is another free attraction! Grab a cup of coffee, a courtyard seat and wait for the fountain to come alive. It is a fun experience for the whole family, after the show try a spot of window shopping. The Mall is packed full of famous names that are usually more at home on the Catwalk.

Vegas, with it's phenomenal weather offers families a destination that virtually guarantees sunshine. It is a one of a kind destination, and although some parts are certainly better suited to adults, it should not be overlooked as a family destination. It is home to so many phenomenal resort hotels, with so many facilities and attractions that are generally bargain priced or free, that it may be the perfect choice for many families.
