This is the best time right now to start your own business, even if you have a job, or if you are not working now, this is your opportunity to make your business work. You can start small and see it grow. The most important skill you need to succeed is to add leadership to start the business, and then be able to put your shoulder to wheel of progress to make it work. No one cares about the business success more thant you do. Here are some tips for setting up your small business to succeed.
l). Write your business plan of your idea or proposed business. What does it include? In the beginning it can include the product, service or idea you have for the business. Who will buy it from you? This is your target market, and they must have enough money to buy your product, and it should be as clerly defined group: women, men, sport fans, engineers, accountants, theatre fans, golfers, any group which is clearly defined, then helps you reach them. How to you market and sell to the target market, by flyers, magazines, internet small space ads, videos, blogs, seminars or direct mail? What is your strategy for pricing your product. Inclulde ideas to help you promote your product worldwide. How will you sell products?
2). Be willing to commit to putting putting enough time and money into the business to get it started. Too often, new business owners have enthusiam in the beginning, but to make the business succeed, it needs daily planning and your leadership to make it work. The business needs money for products, and to sell and promote it regularly. Work hard to reach the "Break Even Point" which is when you get enough sales to cover your product costs and operating costs, and you reach the profit point in the business. Be willing to hire more sales people to reach more people to get sales moving to succeed. Sales is the name of the game to succeed.
3). Give your target market reasons for buying your product? People buy for many reasons, such as: to make money, look better, lose weight, appeal to the opposite sex, reach goals, succeed in their jobs, save more money in their investments, and many others. Choose the appeal presents the best product offer to your target market, and when one works, keep using it. Write out your business plan, and work your plan, hire people who are as smart and motivated as you, and keep selling and promoting your business, set a monthly and yearly sales quote, and make sure you reach it, work to get new customers who will become "lifelong customers" to build your business to the sky. Hire a accountant who understands new businesses and how to build them into the solid companies. You need cash flow to grow the business to the sky, and you will enjoy the challenge of having your own successful business for the rest of you life. Good Luck.
