How do I know that God exists?

by G.E. Robbins

Created on: March 16, 2009

A recent letter found written by the late Albert Einstein basically states that belief in God and the Bible are nothing more then a product of human weakness and belief in them is childish.

Now I am no Einstein, my IQ being above average is no where as close to what Einstein's was.

However, I and most believers would take exception to his remarks. For some reason today, believing in God or being a Christian has come out of vogue. If you believe you are basically called a fanatic. The Atheists or humanists want to take God out of everything in society. They have succeeded in removing the Lords Prayer from our schools and forcing the evolution theory and removing creationism as well.

The words Merry Christmas have been replaced with Happy Holidays and the mere mention of Jesus at Christmas time can send shivers down the spines of those who don't believe and they expect us to feel the same way. What Atheists don't get, is the Bible teaches us nothing but pure love for one another. It teaches us about living a moral life style and to do unto others as we would want done to us. It teaches about acceptance and patience and kindness.

They ask if there is a God then show them proof. If they want proof, all they have to do is look out their front door at the sky, the earth, the people the whole universe a marvel to behold. They are taken aback by believers who reject the evolution theory and accept creation as fact. They are entirely free to believe what they want to, that's what living in a free society is all about. Just as Christians have the right to believe in what they want.

Ok let's look at evolution. Darwin theorized that all life evolved from a lower order of species to what we are today. So let's say for arguments sake that evolution is partially true. If that is the case, then God designed us that way, to evolve to suit our environment.

All things that are created evolve into something better, just look how technology has evolved over the years, and is technology not created? Of course it is.

Would not God do the same for man? Have us evolve into some far better then what we were thousands of years ago? The world is a complex place and too complex to believe that life began from a lighting striking in some primordial soup. Or that the big bang which they claim created the universe just happened without some type of creator.

In fact would have God not created the universe in such a matter?

The Bible says that God created the heavens and earth in seven days. But what is a day to God? A day to God could be ten thousand, thousand millennia to us.

Can I ask how this belief is childish?
