History takes place in Europe as we speak. Never before has this continent seen so many countries working together in order to achieve common economic standards and general policies in all sorts of fields and to maintain peace. It works: since the war in former Yugoslavia is over, the republics in that part of Europe are also seeking memberships and partnerships with their fellow European countries.
Having become a continent of peace, the question rises whether Europe is also a safe place. Commonly, the answer is yes. There are parts where a person doesnt want to be, but in comparison with the United States and many other places on our beautiful globe, its fair to say that the European continent is one of the safest places you could end up being at. When starting a tour through Europe, London could act as the gateway to the rest of the continent. London is as traditional as the English people ever will be. The big attractions in the British capital are, amongst others, the Tower of London where the crown juwelries of the royal family are being kept, no less than 13 museums are free to visit (including the British Museum) and of course the London Eye, the big wheel that elevates you more than 100 meters above the city and gives you an extraordinary view. Shopping and nightlife are huge. London is a safe place, with beautiful sites and a very dynamic, metropolitan atmosphere. A place to start your travels.
AMSTERDAM
The canals, the hasj joints and the Red Light District are world famous and attract millions of tourists every year. Amsterdam is also the city of Anne Frank and Rembrandt. The Van Gogh Museum is located there and the Heineken Brewery is open every day. The Dutch are known for their extensive knowledge of English, making Amsterdam a very easy city to visit. Safety is high. Girls could be walking in the Red Light District by theirselves at night without anything happening to them and the number of murders is among the lowest in the world.
BARCELONA
If there is one city that has gained a lot from the Summer Olympics, its Barcelona (which held the Games in 1992). Since that time, the city attracts as many visitors as a random
