My Beating Heart
When I saw you through the window,
It was like a dream.
I quickly ran down the stairs,
And wanted to scream.
I stopped in the doorway,
And time stood still.
I was in wonder,
At how we feel.
I couldn't help but smile,
At the simple fact.
That after all these years,
I still don't know how to act.
My heart was beating,
I was shaking from inside.
I loved the look on your face,
And the light in your eyes.
When we touched,
Our emotions were set free.
But I was longing for you,
To hold me.
Is it wrong I have these feelings?
Should I feel bad?
Should I hide them once again?
But that would make my heart sad.
Do we love from afar,
And yearn from within?
Do we act on our hearts,
And finally give in?
What would it be like?
And how would it feel?
If we gave into the moment,
And shared that thrill.
I'd give it all up,
For just one time.
To lay in your arms,
For just one night.
Everyday I think about it,
It's so hard not to.
My every thought,
Is consumed by you.
My heart is torn,
Is this taboo?
This feeling has never left,
Or changed views.
You will always be the one,
My heart has loved the most.
So please take these words,
And hold them close.
Just know whatever you go through,
Or wherever you are.
You will always have with out a doubt,
My beating heart.
