There is nothing better than a deep, gut wrenching belly laugh that goes on and on. It's almost like a drug, and you better believe there is a reason they say, "Laughter is the best medicine". I get such a natural high off laughter and what better way to find it than in a really funny movie?

I have seen my share of hilarious movies. As a matter of fact, comedy is most often my first choice when I am deciding what movie to see. If I can't find a really good comedy, then I will look towards the dramatic, romantic, and action films. But the comedic genre is usually what I look for first.

I don't think I could possibly name my all time favorite comedic movie. There are just too many to choose from. I tend to really enjoy the Saturday Night Live Alums, such as Will Ferrell and Bill Murray. However, I am also hard pressed to find fault of any kind with Kevin Smith and his Jay and Silent Bob franchise.

One of the funniest movies out there that I have seen in the last couple of years is Clerks II. Kevin Smith's sequel to the cult classic, Clerks, takes place ten years after the first film. Jay and Silent Bob have just gotten out of rehab, and Randall and Dante have lost their jobs at the Quick Stop due to unforeseen circumstances. They now work at Mooby's, the fast food restaurant first introduced to Smith fans in the film Dogma. Rosario Dawson plays their boss, Becky, a straight laced stick in the mud with a bit of a crush on Dante.

Dante is engaged to be married and seems to have matured slightly, however Randall is still the same, obnoxious goofball out to drive everyone bonkers with his argumentative manner and horrid vocabulary. One of the funniest scenes in the movie is an argument that ensues between Randall and a customer over which movie franchise is better, Star Wars or Lord of the Rings. I can't remember how long it took me to stop laughing, but I remember my stomach aching from the spasms.

Clerks II has a multitude of deep belly laugh moments as well as several great Jay and Silent Bob scenes, but it also has quite a bit of gross humor that I had to cover my eyes for. Be forewarned about the goat. That's all I'll say!

Another brilliant comedic film (in my little opinion, anyway) is Zoolander. Ben Stiller's VH1 skit about male fashion model Derek Zoolander is brought to the big screen and I promise you, this is two hours of wet your pants laughter.

Derek Zoolander has always been the top male model and a fashion Icon but has recently had to take a back seat to the younger and hotter Hansel, played by Owen Wilson. Derek has a hard time accepting that Hansel is the new "It" guy but soon a plot to overthrow the Prime Minister of Malaysia has the two joining forces to save the fashion world. Also appearing are Stiller's real life wife, Christine Taylor, as reporter Matilda Jeffries, Will Ferrell as evil fashion designer Mugatu, and Jerry Stiller as Derek's agent Maury Ballstein who has problems with balls in more ways than just his silly name.

Zoolander is truly one of the funniest movies I've ever seen and one I can watch over and over again. In fact, I do watch it over and over; at least once a year.

I am a firm believer in laughter being the cure for what ails us in so many situations. Whether it's a really funny movie, a night at home watching sit-coms, reading a laugh out loud book, or just talking and laughing with friends, I highly recommend a daily dose of laughter to everyone.
