If someone told you that you were born to succeed, would you believe it?
I asked myself this question for years. Still, I could never find the answer to this question no matter how hard I tried. When I posed the question to friends and acquaintances, their answers were always less than optimistic; in fact, to some of them, that I would even ask this question was even rather humorous. From then on, I decided to pursue my search for the answer on my own quietly. Along the way, I read books, searched the Internet, meditated, and even prayed for the answer. Nothing worked, but my desire to find the answer was so great and so intense, that one night my persistence paid off.
Mind you, I am not a religious person, however, I am spiritually oriented. So one night, I decide to peruse the Bible to see if I can find an answer to my question. Eventually, after a while, I came to a verse that said, "Ask and you shall receive; Seek and you shall find; Knock and the door shall be opened." For whatever reason the verse left an impression, and it kept replaying itself in my head over and over and over again over days, weeks, and months: "Ask and you shall receive; Seek and you shall find; Knock and the door shall be opened."
Then one day I had an interesting thought; it was one of those "What if..." thoughts. And it came to me like this: "What if...even before you were born, you underwent an event which guaranteed that you would be born to succeed in life. Would you believe it?"
Naturally I asked myself, "What do you mean?" No sooner had I said that, when the following monologue unfolded in my mind:
"You have been asking me this question for a very long time. Now you will know the answer.
Yes, you were born to succeed.
You see, you participated in the most competitive race you would ever engage in even before you were born! No other event later in your life on earth would even compare to this event. This event was your race to be born.
You ran this race, and so did everyone else who was ever born. You will never encounter greater competition on earth than the competition you faced in the race to be born. If you were victorious then, and of course you were because you were born, then you are guaranteed victory over any other situation or condition that you may encounter in life.
In the race to be born you competed against millions of other beings who were vying for the same reward as you, the chance to be born. And you won. And you won that race because I chose you to be born. And from that moment you have had my blessing, and this blessing guarantees your success in life. The only way that you cannot succeed in life is if you believe that you cannot. For you see, even if I have guaranteed even before you were born that you would succeed in life, I will not go against your free will. For your free will is not unlike the laws of the universe, and such laws cannot be violated.
Therefore, even though you were born with the guarantee that you would succeed in life, I cannot force you to succeed during your lifetime unless you first believe that you can. For to go against the law of your free will, to choose to believe what you will, is impossible for me to do. All of the laws I have established in the Universe are inviolable. They cannot be violated, and they cannot be changed. It is the same with your free will.
You were born to succeed. If you are not succeeding, if you are not happy, if you are not living a fulfilled life, it is because you do not believe that you were born to succeed. You can have this and more the moment that you believe. Success was guaranteed to you and all who were born, even before any of you were born. But you must believe this to be true before you can experience success in life. Anything that you believe you shall have."
After this experience, I learned that there are approximately 40 million to 600 million sperm cells in one male ejaculation. This means that anyone who today is alive (or was ever born) had to compete against this vast competition in order to be born. Will any of us ever encounter that sort of competition again in our lifetime? The answer is obvious.
Therefore, since we have already won the hardest, the most competitive, and the most seemingly impossible race we could ever compete in, everything else in life pales in comparison to that event. The blessing of success was bestowed upon even before we were born. Now that we know this, let us believe that indeed we were born to succeed. Let us then go out and triumph in life. For this was our destiny from the beginning.
Believe that we were born to succeed and we will, for this is our birthright.
