Crafting is a amazing skill in runescape that enables a player to create all sorts or stuff with their hands, like making your own leather armour, glass, battlestaves, jewelry, and more! Many say that crafting is one of those "useless" skills because it just seems time wasting to make your own stuff when you can buy your stuff cheap in markets, but that is not the point. What many players do not thing of is that because other players think like that, crafting can become a well-profitable skill. In this guide I will show you how to make money from crafting, and tips to level up your crafting. This skill sort of corresponds with Mining and Smithing, so to make money, you may need these skills too. NOTE: to really be a profitable crafter, it is advised that you become a member, because most of the skills in crafting require you to get materials only available to members.
TRAINING- To really make profit from crafting, you want to train so that you are available to use different methods of money-making, like making jewelry.
Non-members- This is a hard skill to train I admit, if you are non-member, but is not impossible. Leather crafting is very efficient to start training with, only requires a needle, thread, and tanned cowhides. First, if you have a lot of money, you want to just start buying a lot of cowhides at the grand exchange, bank them, then head towards Al Kharid to have them tanned. You can buy the cowhides tanned, but it is not advised. Take out your needle and thread, then head towards the tanner with your cow hides, and have all of them tanned. It does cost money, 1gp to be exact to make the tanned leather. Once you have this, you can start making leather gloves, which should be dropped because it does not provide profit. You can keep on repeating this process to level up, and try making coifs and chaps.
Members- In members, it is very easy to train, but you should do the same as the non-members way until level 10, when you can start making a lot of money with bowstrings.
MONEY-MAKING THROUGH CRAFTING- This is probably the part everyone has looked forward to when you are training am I right? WELL, in crafting it is relatively easy to make money from bow strings, although it is members.
Non-members: It is also hard to make money from crafting in non-members, yet again, not impossible. The most profitable way would be jewelry making, where you need to buy cut rubies, and gold bars. Here is where a little smithing comes in. You smelt the two together with a necklace mold to create ruby necklaces, which can be sold at Grums-gold exchange, located at Port Sarim for little profit.
members: This is perhaps the most profitable method in all of crafting, because you can sell these almost instantly. What is it? It is bowstring. It seems almost crazy that a lot of people would buy this stuff, but fletchers do almost instantly. At seers Village, you first need to pick flax, then go to the building southwest of the bank, where you will need to spin it.
