Easy ways to incorporate exercise throughout the day

There are many ways to sneak a little workout into your daily schedule. These are things that will take some effort but won't require the extra hours that you would have to put in at a gym. While going to a gym or running on a regular basis would be great for getting into shape and getting healthy, it is a time dedication and a worry that some of us simply cannot afford.

1. Take the stairs. This is probably one of the most simple ways you can make sure you're getting plenty of steps in during your day and getting a bit of a leg workout. Taking the stairs doesn't tire you out too much, and if it does you know it's working you out. The effectiveness of this method may vary from job to job, as some people have to go up and down stairs a hundred times a day while someone else may only go twice.

2. Eat healthy. Of course this one is a no-brainer but it really is an easy way to increase your overall fitness. Just repolace all your junk food with things that are reasonable. Instead of eating cookies in the afternoon, have an apple. Simply changing the food around you will make your body healthier and even improve your look over time.

3. Do weight-less wortkouts. While this tactic requires more work it really is not difficult to achieve. All you have to do is take twenty minutes out of your day when you get home from the office or before you shower in the morning and do a few push-ups and crunches. This won't make you look like a body builder but it will get your blood flowing and get your metabolism up a bit.

4. Do some office workouts. Research how to do some simple workouts to do during your work day. These can help you to get a little bit of tone in your muscles and get your blood pumping while you work. There are many lists online that can help you think of workouts to do during office hours.

5. Don't sit around. Many of us like to get home after a long day and sit on the couch for the four hours we have between getting home and sleeping. While relaxing is necessary sometimes, sitting on a couch and eating chips will do you no favors. If you want to watch a TV, do a little workout during your show, or if you can, throw a stationary bike in front of the TV. Sitting around is like poison to your body. Your body knows it won't work and it stops being active.

While going to the gym is a great idea not everyone has time for it. These are just some ideas for people who need some weight loss and muscle toning but are very busy. These are also suggestions that any gym-goer could benefit from as well.
