Quick tips for spring cleaning

With spring right around the corner so is spring cleaning. I am sure that you will be enjoying the warm and sunny weather. After your finished spending time outside it will be time to move back into your house and move out the dust. Your probably getting all stuffy in that closed up house of yours. Time to cure cabin fever.

Adding a spring look to your home will be a great first step. Colors and scents from fresh flowers will not only add to the decor but add a nice fresh smell also. Don't go trying to buy fresh flowers every day or week. Just get a couple bouquets and place them strategically around your living space. They will also get you ready for the summer months which are moving in fast.

Fruit also adds some nice color to your home. Placing some oranges, apples, mangos and pears in a basket makes for inexpensive as well as useful decor. They serve a dual purpose. Making your home look good as well as helping you remember to eat better.

Removing dark colored throw pillows and covers for some brighter colors will help liven up the place. Bring in some sunshine with lighter drapes. Adding brighter colors and allowing the sun to shine in will have you ready for spring in no time at all. Remember that light blues and greens are great Spring colors. So with just moving some things around and switching things out will help in the transition from Winter to Spring. Oops, the windows are dirty. Time to remove all that dirt that has built up over the last few months.

Just getting some new pictures and paintings for your walls will help. Try some that have landscapes in them. Pictures that are brightly colored and able to bring the outdoors indoors make great decor and relief from cabin fever built up over the long cold winter. Almost forgot one last thing. It is probably the most important item when it comes to spring cleaning. Empty out the junk drawer, I know you dont have one right. We all have a junk drawer. While your in the kitchen clean out the cupboards and get reorganized.

Now that your spring cleaning is done. Head back outside and enjoy the weather. It is probably upto 60 degrees during the day by now. Spring cleaning doesn't happen inside. So now is a great time to start working on that flower garden you've been wating. Check with your town and see when they will be having curbside pick up of brush and leaves. Get bags for the leaves some towns give these away. Just remember to take a break every now and then to enjoy the weather. You dont want to get tired of working and give up.
