Poetry: Religious

MASTERPIECE
The brush mars the paper white
With strokes of death and despair
The pristine shell is forever changed
But there's something hidden there.

Another slash reveals the pain
Of life falling in the way
The ease on which the stroke appears
Is more than one can stand.

A flourish of the hand makes known
The joys and then the tears
Of walking through the valley dark
Where like water pools the fears.

Highlighting things of common love
Casts shadows on the theme
Then jagged lines disturbs the peace
Like nightmares robbing dreams

And in the end the artist takes
The masterpiece at hand
And shows the truth to angels there;
That it's the trials that makes the man.
