Blog is actually a certain kind of website. It's distinct feature is that it has an actively changing content in the form of new posting. The word blog is actually a derivation of web-log.

As in real life, some of us would have some sort of log book that we use to note something of worthy to be noted such as diaries, journal, short notes, anecdotes, or just anything worth while.

Using blog we could have do all of those things with computer and published it on-line so the people with Internet access could read it and probably give some sort of respond, usually in a form of comments.

All the data we wrote will be stored in an Internet server so we could recalled all the data back whenever we feel like to do. That's should be an advantage compared with usual log book which could sometimes gone missing when something wrong happen.

You actually also could set up your blog to be a private one which is limited to be accessed only by you yourself or your selected group of peoples.

Whichever format you might choose is up to you. There are various types and design of blog out there with different purposes.
