When it comes to your life, you are the boss, and the CEO, and your goals are your shareholders. You have to please the boss, and make the CEO happy in order for your company to run smoothly. In this case, you are your company, and you have to make sure that you are being run to the best of your ability. Any good company will have the ability to make the shareholders happy, and make them the most amount of profit possible. The best way to run a good company is to have high employee morale, so you have to do what you want in life to be happy.

People will always tell you that you are no good, you can't do this, can't do that, and try to hold you down. There will be people who will try to beat all the happiness out of you, so that you don't threaten their spot in life, or have more happiness than your critics. If you have ever seen the Pursuit of Happyness, you need to go see that movie. The scene where Will Smith and his son's character are shooting hoops, and the little boy says he wants to play in the NBA.

His father tells him he cannot, because he doesn't and that most won't make it. Upon seeing his son dejected, and not wanting to play, he tells him that he should never let anyone hold him back, and to live his dream. Why not? You only live one life, and if anything, the movie is a story about a man who wanted to live a better life for himself, and for his son. The movie is somewhat a generic rags-to-riches story, but an inspiration nonetheless.

I don't think society as a whole is really that smart. It seems to me that one or two people get a big enough audience, and if the people are uninformed enough, or think what the talking head says makes sense, they will follow. In a way it explains why people think the economy will never get better, and why there were runs on banks, and why investors lost millions on failed banks like AIG, and Bear Stearns. I don't blame the investors, but if you took a second to think for yourself, how on Earth did you really think these banks were going to last?

The most successful people on the face of the Earth are the innovators, the ones who think outside the box. Leonardo Da Vinci was the inspiration for an entire revival of the arts in the medieval times. The Wright Brothers made it possible for us to fly, and we made it to the Moon because JFK said so, and the American people were determined to do it. I have no doubt that most people around the ones I mentioned thought they were all crazy. Only birds could fly, and no one could make it to the Moon with the technology available.

However, by going against the grain, mankind has made its best advances. Sometimes you have to just go with your gut feeling, and not let people tell you what to do. If we spend all our lives conforming, what is the point of living, or being an individual person? We might as well be one big lump of a person, and never think, or act outside of that consensus.
