Eyeliner and mascara are essential parts of the make-up process. Eyeliner enhances the eyes making small eyes appear larger and large eyes stand out. While mascara opens your eyes up giving the effect of longer more fuller lashes. I have some tips and tricks for choosing the right eyeliners and mascaras, and a guide to applying them flawlessly. Your sure to become a professional in no time.

Eyeliner:

There's many different types of eyeliners and choosing the right one can be difficult. The eye pencil is most common, being the easiest to apply. Most women just starting out go with the eye pencil. Your lines will be straight and it doesn't take as much work. There's a few types of pencils, felt tip , soft tip, and the thick pencil used mainly for smudging. The felt tip eye pencil is easy to work with, giving you straight perfect lines. Using the soft tip is just as easy but goes on more smoothly, gliding with ease making your look flawless. Then you have the thick eye pencil , it's wide and has a thick tip. If your trying for the smoky look then this pencil is the one your looking for. Liquid Eyeliners take a lot of practice and a steady hand, but when applied properly, it has a nice lasting look. Most liquid eyeliners don't smear and stay on longer than the eye pencil.

Tips:

. When choosing an eyeliner think about the type of look your trying to achieve. For a natural look or just a little extra spunk to your look, use the eye pencil. For a dramatic look or something that is gonna last choose the liquid liner.

. When applying the eyeliner stay as close to the eye lashes as possible for a thinner line.

. If you want to use liquid liner try the felt tip liquid liner, it is easier to use. To make sure you have straight thin lines use an eye pencil first then go over it with the liquid. It lasts longer and doesn't smear.

. To achieve the smoky look use the thick eye pencil and dot the lower part of your eyelid. Then using a q-tip or a make-up sponge rub lightly upwards until eye is the way you like it.

. For better results and a smoother look use a primer or moisturizer over your eyes and let sit for a few minutes so the make-up doesn't smear. You can also add some foundation or a concealer and let sit for a few minutes as well.

. Always put your eye make-up on before your foundation so that if any smears on your face it won't ruin the rest of your make-up.

. Apply eyeliner using an eyeliner pencil on the bottom eye lid as well as the top for more defined
