The truth is that there is MUCH more to Las Vegas than meets the eye. Yes, the casinos are the biggest attraction by far, but there is an entire city, which happens to be one of the fastest growing in the country, teeming with attractions that the whole family can enjoy. Below is a partial list of attractions in Las Vegas that are suitable for all ages.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
1. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area - Red Rock Canyon is a unique area located in Las Vegas that provides a true look at life away from the Glitter and lights of "the Strip". Red Rock is complete with a state of the art visitor's center that provides opportunities for countless activities and information that the whole family will enjoy such as hiking, bicycle trails, horseback riding, and wildlife observation (including wild horses, burros, tortoises, mountain goats, and more). You can also get information on local vegetation, geology and cultural resources. There is a book and gift store that provides items created by locals, books and maps of the area, and many other items that you and your children will find interesting. There is an exhibit area, displaying cultural resources, a small lizard lounge showcasing a few lizards that have been rescued, a bicycle pavilion with picnic tables and BBQ Grills, and space for the family to rest and enjoy the scenery. Top it all off with a 13 mile scenic drive and this makes for the complete outdoor experience in sunny Las Vegas.
