San Francisco, California and the surrounding Bay Area is one the most ethnically and culturally diverse cities in the United States. The city is home to many artists, painters, dancers, singers and the like. San Francisco has something to offer everyone and because there is something for everyone there are thousands of business and organizations within the city and the Bay Area that supports the needs of the community. And a lot of these organizations need volunteers or desire volunteers to help keep their organizations running smoothly. In whatever way you are looking to volunteer there is an organization searching for someone to meet its needs.
A small list of some organizations looking for volunteers has been provided. Each organization has different requirements or requests of its volunteers so one should contact the organization directly if looking to volunteer.
Animal Welfare-
San Francisco SPCA-
The San Francisco Bay Area has a lot of rescue organizations for animals; wild animals, stray animals and surrendered animals. The San Francisco SPCA is the biggest animal rescue organization in the city and they are always anxious for volunteers. The goal of the organization is not euthanize any of their animals but find loving homes for all. Contact the organization itself for volunteer opportunities. Rocket Dog Rescue-
Located in the Bay Area Rocket Dog Rescue is in its sixth year. Run by dedicated volunteers, these volunteers selfishly rescue dogs from overcrowded shelters and euthanization. Many dogs find loving homes because of Rocket Dog Rescue.

Conservation-
Nature Conservancy-
One of the biggest conservation organizations in the US, the Nature Conservancy has an office in San Francisco. The Nature Conservancy helps to protect the environment by purchasing land and protecting it, through scientific research and funding.
