It was cold. A little too cold. Even though it was the beginning of Spring outside, it felt like the beginning of winter in that one portion of the room.
I stepped back, "You have..a little problem," I said slowly to the couple. They had called me and my brother their earlier to check for anything. They had been having problems with their house.
Gina gasped and gripped her husband's hand tighter, "We were right? There are ghosts?"
"Not ghosts..apparitions," my brother Jacob said quietly, "A sensitive one."
I nodded slowly and gently waved my hand through the cold part of the room again. I could feel the vibrations of the energy in it.
Before I pulled my hand out, there was something tugging my arm. I gasped and pulled my hand out, "No. It's not sensitive," I murmured and stepped farther back.
"What happened?"
I could hear the worry in my brother's voice, "It can touch things," I said in the same calm voice, hoping the ghost wouldn't over react if it heard a loud voice.
"You felt it?" Gina's voice came out shrill. Exactly what I had been hoping she wouldn't do.
As soon as she let out her question I felt something slam into my stomach, throwing me to the floor.
"Liesa!" Jacob ran forward to catch me and was suddenly whacked the same way I had been.
The couple who had called us in screamed and ran from the room, leaving us to fend for ourselves against the restless spirit.
I scrambled to my feet. The spirit was growing stronger now and I could see it forming over where Jacob was laying on the floor.
The hit had either knocked him out, or the ghost was controlling him, which I saw couldn't be possible from the way it was hovering towards me. I couldn't see how it had even hurt him. Unless it was that strong...
I grabbed the geiger counter from the desk behind me and held it out in front of me. The levels of the energy was high. Very high.
I lowered the geiger rod and stepped forward to the ghost. It was unmoving now and remained in the same spot we had seen it at before it had attacked me.
I crept towards Jacob and nudged his shoulder. Both eyes snapped open. "Is she gone?" he asked quietly.
I shook my head no and he scrambled back so that he was as far from the entity as I.
Something he had said made me think for a moment, "Wait..how do you know it's a she?" I asked him.
"I saw her face," he said. He was still shaking slightly as he spoke, "It's strong. And angry."
