Alternative ways to meditate

Breathe, relax, clear your mind." These are all words associated with a general overview of meditation.

Meditating is not only a method for clearing your mind or relaxing; it is also a method of translating negative energy to positive or rebuilding a drained system. Think of it as you would your car. Would you let the old oil in your car continue to build up and never restock it? Your body is similar in its need for new and cleared energy. Meditation provides the format where you can refuel and draw on the natural universal energy which naturally exists around us.  Meditation is can also be used to tap into a universal consciousness to obtain answers and solve problems.  Rather than your standard breathe and relax meditaions, below are a couple alternative meditations which are also beneficial for the mindy, body, spirit connection.

Meditation to Relax and Cleanse Your Energetic Self:

Find a quiet spot. This can be outdoors in a special area, garden or inside in a secluded room. Lie down with your palms facing upward (to receive). You can choose to put on relaxing sounds or music if you choose and only you know what will ultimately relax you. Begin taking slow deep breaths. First try inhaling and counting to slowly to 10; then hold the breath for 5, then release the breath out slowly for another count of 10. Repeat this several times allowing your thoughts to drift away. Repeat in your mind, "All that is important is this moment and my breath." Once you have a steady breathing begin focusing on the physical. Begin at your head releasing tension and thoughts. Imagine a warm gold liquid seeping down from the top of your head. As it moves through your body focus on releasing tension in each of the areas all the way down through your legs, feet and toes. Visualize the gold liquid flowing into the floor and down into the earth below you. This "gold" energy is also known as earth energy. It is existent in nature and all around us. It is a gentle energy with a basal vibration which we all pull from without even knowing it. Earth energy is as natural to us as breathing and most people find this the simplest form to focus on. By giving it a color or visualization we allow our minds to manifest the desired outcome of the meditation.
