There are many great reasons why a person would quit their jobs. There are equally as many, if not more, reasons why you shouldn't quit a job. The job market is very tight right now. The economy has made it very difficult for people seeking employment to find anything that will sustain a family. It isn't wise to quit your job without having something to fall back on whether you are quitting for good or bad reasons.
Some issues that people quit over are simply going to make finding another job harder to find. Walking out on a job is detrimental to your future searches. Potential employers will want to know why you quit your last job. It may be best to have better reasons than the following:
I Don't Like My Boss
This reason sends up red flags to potential employers like none other. If you can't get along with your boss that usually means the you don't want to follow instructions from them or that you have a problem dealing with people in general. No employer wants an employee that can't get along with others.
I Don't Like Working There Anymore
This is another red flag. You do not want to have to put this on a resume'. Companies hire people who are loyal and will be there for a long time. They do not want to hire someone that is a "flight risk". Companies spend a lot of money in time and training of new employees. Finding someone that fits into a job without some type of training is nearly impossible. They also don't want to be left with a huge work load for your co-workers to complete because you simply don't like it there anymore.
I Don't Like Working Mandatory Overtime
It seldom happens that a place of employment will require you to work overtime. It does happen on occasion though. That is when an employer needs you to be there and willing to work. If you quit your job because you didn't like being told you must work overtime, you are putting yourself in a bad position for future employment. Overtime doesn't generally last forever. Your need for money does. If you get the job done, you won't have to worry about it and you will look great in the eyes of your boss and the eyes of any future employees.
I Can't Learn The New_______
You many have a new computer system at work that is driving you crazy. It could be that your position was changed completely and you are having a hard time grasping it. These things can be very frustrating but they are not impossible. Anytime we begin something new in our lives, it can be hard to grasp at first. Those problems will work their way out and you will soon become as expert at the new "stuff" as you were at the old.
I'm Bored With My Job
Being bored with a mundane job can easily happen. If you truly feel that you can't stand to do that job a minute longer, it would be better to talk to your employer before just giving up. Let your employer know that you are ready to move to a different position that requires a little more variety. If you are a good employee, they will probably make the effort to find you something more suitable. Most employers don't want to lose good employees and will put out the extra effort to keep them around.
Leaving your position at work is a very serious move. You should think long and hard about it. If you feel that you truly do not want to work for the company any longer, prepare yourself. Don't leave in a huff, simply plan your escape.
