Paying your bills: Organization tips

Worried about not being able to pay bills on time? Organizing your bill payment could help save money that you would otherwise be paying as late payment fees. Often your letter box may be filled with payment reminders. You could avoid all these by staying more organized.

-Pay instantly:

By post: Every month you might have to set a specific amount of your paycheck to pay your bills any way. Then why delay the process and get fined for paying on time. Write a check as soon as you receive a mail and post it in the mail box in the specified envelop.

By Internet: As soon as you get your bill,s log in to your bank account and pay your bills. Paying bills over Internet is one of the most convenient way to pay the bills no matter whether it is a weekend or a public holiday.

-Set automatic bill payment: With facilities top set automatic bill payments straight from your bank account, set the option to pay your utility bills. No hassles of having to remember to pay the bills. It is also helpful if you are out of town on a vacation or overseas assignments. Above all, it is the best option to avoid a clutter on you home and office tables.

-Set a bill payment corner: Get a white board and a marker pen and create a list of bills to be paid at home. Hang it in a corner where you are more likely to check. Mark the column for each month after paying the bills. It may be easy to find which bills are not paid on time. Alternately, you could use reminder books available in office stationery stores.

-Use monthly column reminders. Get about 31 boxes from a stationery store or make one with old fabrics. Divide them into 31 pocket sections and marks the days of the month. Store the bills in each section as soon as you get the bills. Place them in sections preferably one or two days before the due date.

-Use cell phone reminders: As you get the bills, set an automatic reminder on your cell phones with time. As most people carry cell phones with them always, it is easy to get reminders and to pay bills on time.

-Get a handy helper: Handy helpers are not uncommon to find who could help pay your bills for a nominal fee. If you are working overseas and need a help in your home town, get a helper to do it for you on time. Remember to select a trustworthy person or agency.

- Equal payment option for a year: Some agencies offer equal payments for 12 months based on average of previous bills or set limits. People staying overseas for years can make use of this payment option to pay bills in bulk for a year and avoid the hassles of paying bills monthly.
