Humor: I know I am a procrastinator when ...

No body procrastinates about everything but most people procrastinate about something. I know I am a procrastinator when I take films in to be developed and get pictures back of children from them being babies to their fifth or sixth birthday parties. One Christmas cannot be distinguished from another except by the size of the kids in the pictures. Years come and go and the drawer fills up with undeveloped films. Developing 20 or so films at a time costs a fortune and I can barley remember some of the people in the photos. It is just like opening presents, I never know what is going to be inside.

It happened once that the procrastination process had lead to multiple pictures on the same film. There were tables of people sitting on clouds (have heard of people having their heads in a cloud but not their bottoms), suppose one really should change the film in the camera. I really thought about this but could not get around to it at the time, I was just having too much fun taking the pictures.

It had gotten so bad that my daughter bought me a digital camera. Reading the instructions can be delayed because someone told me to just point and click. A few pictures have made it to download, well done. Actually I was forced to because I had filled the card and needed it for a wedding. Since the wedding the couple have had 2 children, the wedding photos are still in the camera along with the pictures of their 2 daughters, 3 years old and 6 months old now. I may get them downloaded onto the computer by the time the kiddies are 5 or 6. No rush, I do not want to injury myself hurrying with this stuff.

Most of us tend to put things off just for now or until we can get around to it. We procrastinate because we have better things to do at the time. We make the proper choice and we know it! We are correct in putting things off for a while.

Procrastination is an art form, a sort of science, an experiment, but most of all necessary to maintain our individuality. To all of you fellow procrastinators, keep up the good work. What does it matter that kids are getting married and we are developing their grade school graduation pictures? Procrastination of photo developing is a way to turn back the clock without any physical effort. Procrastination, amazingly enough, can be survived; procrastination need not be debilitating. Embrace your gift, rejoice in it, but mostly use it to your advantage.

Yes, I procrastinate but only with the best of intentions.
