Reasons for installing a subwoofer in your car

The main reason you should consider installing a subwoofer in your car is so that you can experience the full range of the audio spectrum that your music has to offer. Whether you realize it or not there is a good chance that you are missing some of the music because without a subwoofer you will not hear the low frequencies at all. So anyone who considers themselves a music lover should ensure that they are getting all of the music, and a subwoofer is a required piece of that audio puzzle.

The very low frequencies can bring a warm richness to your music and make it sound more full. In addition to allowing you to hear every part of the song a subwoofer will also let you literally feel the music as it vibrates you and your vehicle. Music is created using the entire audible audio spectrum and a good balanced system will incorporate different speaker types to properly reproduce a particular frequency range. Only through a proper balance will you be able to enjoy the sound as the artist intended it to be heard.

Don't feel like you have to be a fan of rap music to have a reason to install a subwoofer. Whether you listen to New Age or Classical, Rock or Pop or a mix of anything that catches your ear, you will benefit by installing a subwoofer. Of course if you do enjoy styles known for a lot of bass, such as rap, then you are really doing yourself a disservice by not having this vital component as part of your system. If you are looking for that earth shaking loud boom that will rattle anything remotely close to you well then you simply have no choice, stop reading this already and go buy the biggest subwoofer and most powerful amp you can.

Depending on what you are looking for you can get a nice subwoofer for a couple hundred dollars. With that in mind you should go to a Bestbuy or go on-line to someplace like www.Crutchfield.com and find out the particulars for your specific vehicle. In my opinion you might want to couple that purchase with an after-market stereo. An after-market stereo generally gives you more options to tweak the sound to your specific liking and some will include a separate output (called a sub out) specifically for subwoofers. Of course you can spend well more than a couple hundred dollars and that really depends on your individual tastes.

So regardless of your music tastes you can increase your listening enjoyment buy installing a subwoofer in you vehicles system. I've yet to come across someone who was disappointed once they have added some bass (unless of course they simply wanted even more once they had a taste of bass).
