In the society we live in being skinny is a rare commodity. Most people look at skinny models or actors and actresses as if they come from a alien planet. We all realize that most people aren't that skinny. Even people that are very skinny don't seem to think it's all that big of a deal. Hollywood and these glamour magazines try to tell woman a skinny body makes you the ultimate beauty. In real life I have found that this is far from the truth. Most of the men I have ran into over the years have confessed to me and others that they prefer a woman with some meat on her bones. Never the less, women still go through extremes trying to become or stay skinny. Their are thousands of diets on the market now geared at helping women to achieve their ultimate goal of being skinny. You would think that being skinny is the key to solving all of a female's problems. This society is not designed to help any one stay skinny. There are more fast food and desert commercials on television than any thing else. These advertising companies have the nerve to use the skinniest models they can to sell us the most fattening food. No wonder we have so many anorexic and bulimic women in this country.
Woman are especially bombarded with distorted views on the way they should look versus the way they should eat. One minute your watching a commercial on buying a pizza and getting one free, the next commercial you see is a twenty four hour fitness commercial. I can relate to a skinny person being embarrassed about some one calling them skinny. Most people in the society we live in are so obsessed with being skinny, they don't even consider it a insult to call someone skinny. I know how you feel skinny people. Your thinking in your mind how hurt they would be if some one called them fat. But what a skinny person should realize is we live in a society in which, there are so many over weight people, that the ultimate accomplishment is to be skinny. They don't even understand why some one would complain about being too skinny. In their mind you should be thankful that some one noticed how skinny you are. In my opinion, you can never justify any type of insult. All people have feelings regardless of whether they are fat, medium, skinny or super skinny. We're all human beings and can feel the pain on the inside.
People need to start focusing more on healthy living. If you focus on eating healthy, getting enough exercise than eventually you'll reach a size that is best for your bone structure. You may never be skinny or you may never be voluptuous, but you will be healthy and fit. Healthy living includes becoming mentally healthy and strong. Keeping a positive attitude toward all people. Choose to compliment someone on something about themselves instead of insulting them. Usually if some one is teasing you about being skinny they are envious of you. Don't get so caught up on your outer beauty any way. What truly makes you a beautiful person is the way you feel about your self and others. Approach life with the attitude of being the best you can be physically, mentally and spiritually.
