TV show reviews: Celebrity Apprentice 2

The Celebrity Apprentice 2 is a sequel to the original Celebrity Apprentice, which aired last year. The Celebrity Apprentice 2 is also known as The Apprentice Season 8, as technically it is just a division of the original Apprentice, which aired in 2004 of NBC Networks.

The original Apprentice contained 16 contestants, all competing against each other for a position at one of the many Trump companies, with a guaranteed salary of $250,000 a year. The idea of the show is that the contestants lived in a suite in Trump Plaza, and each week the contestants would have to perform different tasks, and then whichever team lost the task, would eventually have one contestant fired from that team. Occasionally there were some twists involved, where more than one person was fired, just to try to mix things up and spice up the show.

Since the premier of the Apprentice, it was originally very successful. After a few seasons, the show started to slow down in the ratings, and the season as even cut short. Donald Trump was determined to make sure the show continued to be a success, so things were changed up for several different seasons. There was a season were the contestants lived in California, but instead of beautiful luxury suites, they lived in tents outside. Then after that came the Celebrity Apprentice, where different Celebrities competed in the same competition against each other, hoping to win money for their charity. For each task, the money earned would be donated to the charity of the winning team's project manager's choice. The winner of the show, would have all of that money won during the show, plus another large donation to their charity for winning the competition.

The Celebrity Apprentice 2 aired on March 1st 2009. The Celebrity Apprentice is expected to air on Sundays on NBC for two hours, from 9-11PM Eastern Standard Time.

The first episode of the new season had the contestants create and sell homemade cupcakes. The celebrities were divided into teams, with one team being named Athena, and the other being named KOTU. I will not reveal who won and who got fired, as I do not want to spoil it for viewers who have not been able to see this episode yet.

Some of the shows contestants include celebrities such as Andrew Dice Clay, Scott Hamilton, Joan Rivers, Tom Green, Dennis Rodman, Khloe Kardashian, Tionne Watkins, and more. With a good group of celebrities, the show should certainly be interesting.

This season of The Celebrity Apprentice will probably not live up to its reputation, as I don't think it will be quite as good as last season, but I definitely feel it is worth giving it a chance if you've enjoyed The Apprentice in the past. The only thing I don't like is the length of the show, I'm not sure why they would make any show two hours, especially two hours of Donald Trump's ego. Overall the show is appropriate for most ages, although there is some occasional mild language, so may not be best for real young ones.
