Spring vacation has arrived! It is time to pack up your bags, gather the kids, and head to a destination filled with fun and laughter! With so many awesome destination choices, you will want to narrow it down to one that meets the needs of your family. From Walt Disney World, to the majestic Rocky Mountains, and Washington D. C., there is a destination that you will enjoy!
For the family that loves adventure, the Mile High City of Denver, Colorado, can provide an outdoor experience unlike any other. From downhill skiing to cross country skiing, the thrills, as well as the beauty will pull you in. The weather is usually fairly mild, mid 30's. But, keep in mind, you will need proper attire if you opt to hit the slopes! If your family has a host of teenagers in the clan, Denver would be the ultimate spring vacation destination for your family.
Maybe you and your family are Disney fanatics! Then look no further than Kissimmee, Florida. Here is where "The Mouse" and his gang hang out. The Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Walt Disney Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom, are just a taste of what this magical world has to offer. Hidden Mickey's will surround you and give everyone in the family a new challenge while vacationing in the Walt Disney World Resort. With themed hotels, thrilling water parks, and golf courses around each bend; Walt Disney World can be a great choice for a growing family that desires some warm weather and a much needed winter break!
Washington D. C., can provide a great vacation experience for families with teenagers. When kids are old enough to realize what this historical city is all about, this city provides a great spring vacation destination. The White House, our nation's Capitol, and the numerous museums are just a small sampling of what this bustling city has to offfer. A great project for one of your kids is to have them write to your Congressman and see if they would be willing to meet with your family while visiting. Most of our representatives in Washington D. C. are very supportive of our young people and gracefully accept the invitation to meet with you. And, if you are fortunate enough to be visiting during the Cherry Blossom Festival, be sure to have your camera ready!
These are just three recommendations of a great spring vacation destination for you and your family. Boston, Key West, San Francisco, Chicago, or San Antonio, are also cities that offer amenities that most families would find enticing while vacationing during spring break. Do a little bit of research, ask your friends for destination suggestions, and you will find the destination that best meets the needs of your family. What are you waiting for? Get out those suitcases and start packing! Whichever destination you choose, travel with an open mind and you will have an enjoyable time together. Face it, winter is long, and we all deserve a little break now and then!
