Poetry: Acts of kindness

by Errol A. Smythe

Created on: March 11, 2009

There is a lot of deliberate blindness
To avoid doing an act of kindness
Few today want to be a good Samaritan
To their downtrodden fellow man.

People seem to walk with their nose in the air
Pretending to be looking at something somewhere
Walking past their fellow man in need
Walking past with pretended accelerated speed.

What is happening to mankind in these modern days
Culture evolved into a monster with demonic ways
Where society dictates that someone in need must suffer alone
That you must be afraid to help anyone else but your own.

Religion has not helped as much as it should
One would expect that the religious should do more good
Hatred not love is the driving force of religion
Dividing humanity into groups of demonic division.

If people can take the devil out of their religion
Mankind would be better off and have no division
If people can put back the One True God in their religion
Mankind would be better off and have no division.
