is involved, you thought and as if she can read your mind, she smiled, telling you that it is just a little investment for a better life. Fine, you thought, you can just use the fund meant for paying the landlord next week and by that time hopefully the Feng Shui thing would have helped you to locate some money pit somewhere. So after work, both of you went down to Chinatown and once you entered the store, you are amazed at the wonderful display of the cures but cringed at the sight of the price tags. Your friend introduced you to the proprietress, a sweet middle-aged lady, obviously well-Feng-Shuied. She recommended some items to counter the bad luck - to cure the afflicted directions as well as to net the perfect guy. And you are amazed again; how did she know that you are still single, since obviously at your age, you should be juggling babies at home. Your friend smiled at you and duh! Isn't it expected that she might have informed the proprietress earlier.
Once all the items were already placed on the counter, you made a quick mental calculation of the total cost and it came exactly to the amount that you have put aside for the rent. But hold on, the lady said, this is just the recommended items and you will have to get them in pairs to ensure that they would really work. Hmmm ... that would be the hardest part. Nudging at your friend sheepishly, you apologized to the proprietress and made a promise to come back on salary day to get the stuff. Now her smile is not as sweet as when you first came in but you just turned your back and walked out. On the way back, out of curiosity, you asked your friend how long she had been practicing Feng Shui. She replied that it had been quite a while after her husband had left her, and wondering out loud, you asked her whether any good things had happened since she installed all those cures. She shrugged her shoulders and said she is just waiting, waiting for it to happen but most of her money had been spent on enhancing her life Feng Shui-wise, so basically her situation is not so far different from yours.
Suddenly your head felt clearer and fresher, probably because it was a little bit windy that evening. As you reached your house with the landlord's money still intact in your bag, you realized that Feng Shui might not be for you after all because you cannot afford it. So you reclined to the fact that you might have to take another job to make your life better. Maybe your luck will only come through hard work because now you can see why the poor remained poor while the rich get richer because the poor cannot afford the Feng Shui remedies to reduce the impact of bad Feng Shui on their lives while the rich continued to enjoy being rich and get even filthy richer because they can afford all the remedies. Huh...that's it. Case closed. Feng Shui doesn't work for you because you don't have the means to buy all those enhancers and remedies.
