Poetry: Teenagers

Teenagers? What can I say?

Drama, pure drama from day to day!

Let's not forget about the lingering attitude.

You? Run the risk of not trying to be rude?

If I could be a teenager, would I go back to 1979?

Or would I trade places with you in this troubled day and time?

Growing up in a world so full of the unknown.

Trying to fit in and pretending to be grown.

Teenagers? What can I say?

Be good. Be bold.

Be nice. Try to live to be ripe and old.

Too much TV. Too many video games.

Too many rules. Too many parents. Now who shares the blame?

Teenagers? What can I say?

Be the best. Beat the rest. Just continue to play.

Before you know it, life will no longer be fun.

Cause you'll finally grow up and have a teenage daughter or son.
