Cats and Dogs are as different as apples and oranges. Everything depends on the taste of the individual. Making this critical decision to choose a pet to be a new member of the family is a life changing choice. Having a live pet takes on a whole new world of responsibilities. You have to make a serious decision on how much time you want to put in this new relationship. Don't take this decision lightly.
It is a natural fact that a bond is always formed between the pet and the pet owner. How strong that bond is or how long it last is totally up to the pet owner. It takes a special type of person to become a great pet owner. If your not willing to put in the time and make your pet a part of your family than go get your self a stuffed animal. I know how tempting it is seeing those cute little furry puppies or those big luring pretty cat eyes staring at you. You feel like you are under a temporary spell as you gaze into their darling eyes. That little spell will wear off as soon as you take that cute little adorable cat or dog home, and start getting into the real deal of pet ownership.
The first thing to ask your self is what do you want out of the relationship. If you want a animal that you can train to be obedient to a certain set of rules, than a dog is for you. Are you a out door person who enjoys walking out in nature? A dog needs to be walked every day. He or she will get you motivated to walk even on your laziest days. You can travel with a dog and train it to go to bathroom out side. Your dog will be there to greet you every day when you get home. Even if you have a Doctor Jeckyl and Mr. Hyde personality, your dog will still love you. He'll come running to you when all your friends have kicked you to the curb. Yes, there are many advantages to having man's best friend. There is another side to having a dog that some personalities will cringe too. Dogs will chew up your nicest piece of furniture if not trained properly. Kiss your lazy days good bye when you have a dog. Don't get in the habit of taking a nap instead of walking your dog. If you do your going to wake up one day and find a large chunk of poop in the middle of your living room floor. Dogs need to be bathed almost as much as people or they will stink up your whole house. You'll find your self cleaning and shampooing your carpet several times just to get the smell out. Some people spend just as much in dog grooming and cleaning maintenance as they do on their own hairdresser. If you are the type
