On December 17,2005, was my wedding
I met my husband on line,it was one of those family friend finders groups.Iwas just chatting and trying to spend some time before going to bed.We talked, and got to be very good friends. He told me of his life in England, which to me was very exciting.Ihave lived in the USA all my life and was a widow at that time Ihad been alone for over ten years.Norman was in the middle of a divorce and was a lot older than me.But he was a sweet guy, we talked till wee hours in the night, of course was day time there .Since we had a 5 hour time difference. I got to know him over the two and half years we chatted. Seeing him only on cam .we exchanged photos and etc. Then one night while we were talking he ask me to marry him and i accepted, even tho he was very nervous about the age difference, he had daughters my age. I assured him that it would be ok, love has no age limit. So he came to America thousands of miles to marry me. The Wedding was at my church. My grand children were the maids of honors, and some grandsons and son inlaws were there for norman.Iwas very nervous since I had never been married in a church or had a real wedding before. My first marriage at been at the court house with the Justice of the peace. But this wedding i had planned. I had ordered my wedding dress, very beautiful with sequences all over front of it. the shoes were like glass slippers. The white gloves all the trimmings I was a happy woman. The wedding I planned tho was for a summer wedding, didn't happen.
Norman couldn't finalize his divorce or his affairs in England in time for that. So we had to have a winter wedding.I was un sure what to do about my dress. I would surely freeze to death with my bare shoulder dress. My oldest daughter had ,had a real wedding and still had her beautiful weddding dress.Although I wanted my own dress I agreed to wear hers. It was beautiful with long sleeves, with pearls and sequences also. This day was gonna be a great day. We invited mostly family with a few friends. M daughter inlaws mother had done all the decorations, they were lovely in my favorite colors, which were burgandy, white, and some pink accents. All was beautiful,we had the music taped that we liked and one of the ministers from the church to do the ceremonies. None of Normans family was there but he was happy. We got married then on to the reception, where we had food, drank grape juice instead of wine, since being a baptist myself do not believe in strong drink. All was lovely, we have been married now almost four years and he is a great husband spoils me all the time.I am fifty seven, he is eighty one years old but we married for love and that was the most important thing of all. I had my wedding, something I had always wanted, besides having a companion, I thank God every day for letting me meet Norman.
