What love is all about

by Russell Zinn

Created on: March 10, 2009

Love isn't about having to do anything. It's not about having to always try to keep things alive. It's not about you and making yourself happy. Love is everything about wanting the best for someone else and doing whatever it takes for them. Love drives many people to do many rash, stupid things. But real lovereal love drives you to have one dream. That dream is that special someone whom has earned the right to hold your heart.

Love is about being all you can be for that one person. It is a genuine passion to be better, just for them. When a guy decks out in a suit and tie for a dinner, when a guy stays up all night talking with her when something happens, you can see the love there. It is not about you when you are truly in love. It is not to make you happy or seeing what you can get out of them. It is that deep wish that they are happier than they have ever been, all because of you. It is not a question of whether they are happy' now, but of that eternal joy you give them that forever burns deep inside their heart, no matter the circumstances. The quote, "if I could be anyone, I would be me in love with you," is so true. When two people are truly in love, that becomes a part of them. Love is about giving everything you can to do the absolute best you can in everything you do.

Now love is not necessarily only between two people romantically, there are other forms of love. Christ teaches us about these and tells us to love our brother as well as our neighbor. This is a different kind of love. The love between two friends is different. They are not wishing to always be together. But the kind of love that always has your back no matter what. The love of always being there for you to talk to. He also talks about loving him and doing everything we do to the best of our ability. We are supposed to love him more than anything else in the world. These are different kinds of love, but love nonetheless.

No matter what the kind of love is, it defines you and is part of you. Love is an action; no matter who it is shown to or what kind of love. In order to love someone, one must realize it is not about them and that it is truly about the other person. Actions speak louder than words' truly comes alive and is completely evident when you love someone. Yes, you talk to them all the time that you can, but your actions reflect your love unlike anything else.
