Amelia
Amelia is an 18 year old Hispanic unmarried female currently in the last 3 months of her high school senior year. Her life growing up in the small town of Roswell, NM population 8,652 has been with its share of struggles, but she was able to find many triumphs despite them. With a strong family bond, a fervent faith in the family religion and a dedication to one day getting the opportunity to obtain a college education; Amelia was able to forgo some of the many pitfalls that befell some of the other girls her age in their small town. As you will later find out in the preceding passages Amelia found that she was not able to elude all of life's trap doors. Amelia was receiving both academic and volleyball scholarships from various colleges and universities across the country. Antonio was everything Amelia dreamed of in a boyfriend, handsome, strong, popular, smart, kind and caring. What Antonio wasn't was patient, but because of how well he treated her coupled with the love she thought she felt for him; Amelia was loyal to do whatever Antonio asked. Amelia has become withdrawn from her parents, she quit the volleyball team without explanation and her grades have fallen drastically. Her parents have explained that Amelia becomes hostile to them at times over the simplest of things. The school has reported that Amelia has had 20 sick days in the last month, but the school nurse was not able to find any evidence to support the ailments that Amelia complains of having during her health screening. The nurse suggested to her parents that they take Amelia to the family doctor but Amelia had refused to see the doctor with her parents present. Amelia's situational crises event presented itself when after she decided to visit the Community Free Health Care Clinic after missing her monthly menstrual cycle a month ago. While there Amelia decided to get a free HIV/AIDS test primarily to ensure that she was in fact HIV/AIDS free. She had no reason to believe she was infected because she was sexually involved with only Antonio and knew he was sexually involved with only her. This test would prove that they had made the right decision to be together and that their love was
