God is everywhere and everything in the universe because God is spirit and spirit is everywhere and everything all at once. It is said that God is the one and only true reality in the universe, the only Energy that truly exists, and everything else we see in the universe is but a reflection of God.
In other words, God takes the form of all things in the universe and in our world, including us! Thus as the universe continues to expand, as scientists affirm, God will continue to “become things.” As long as God remains eternal-and we are told this is the case-God will continue to become things throughout eternity.
Therefore, God is as close as our beings. Actually, God is our being! For “in God we live and have our being,” reads the bible. This means, then, there actually is no you or me or us. All there is-is God, the only and true reality in the universe.
A part of us wants to believe that we truly exist as separate beings from God; that we are individual beings and independent from God. The part of us that believes this is our ego. The ego has a good reason for fooling itself into thinking and believing, that it is separate from God. The reason the ego wants to believe this, is because the ego dies when the body dies. The ego, realizing death is eminent, fears extinction and thus fools itself into thinking it has an independent identity that is separate from God. Unfortunately for the ego that is not the case.
Because God is the only true reality in the universe, it is both everything we see and cannot see. Thus, our bodies are God; our minds are God; our consciousness is God; everything in the universe is God, for God is what takes the shape of all things seen, and unseen, in the universe.
Therefore, God is everywhere. All at once! There is no place in the universe where God is not. Everything is God and God is in everything.
So, where is God?
God is in you and me, in the sky, in the farthest space, in the deepest oceans, in the farthest stars, planets, and galaxies; in the young, the middle-age, and the elderly; in the sand on a beach, in the blade of grass in a prairie, and everywhere else we can imagine-even unto the farthest corners of the universe, there is no place where God is not.
Therefore, we are safe-now, always, and forever; so let us not fear, let us not fret, let us instead be grateful for this wonderful dream, this amazing journey we call life. For one day, it must and will come to an end, let us then enjoy it, while we can.
