There was a time in our history when the phrase: cut the junk mail, had only one connotation, stop filling my mailbox. Unfortunately, we now have multiple mailboxes. The physical mail boxes outside our homes, and the cyberspace boxes inside them. As if that were not enough, marketers are now learning how to access our mobile phones. There are ways to stop junk mail, but they will require individual attack methods to slow or eliminate altogether.
With multiple mail boxes available to stuff with junk mail, it is necessary to formulate a comprehensive battle plan that will rival that of any countries war machine. It's not enough to stop the enemy at the physical mailbox. You must prepare yourself to cut off the advances that will be flung at any mail drop zone. A battle waged on this scale requires all the resources that a person can muster.
The first line of defense will be established around your financial information. It's not necessary to stop buying goods and services online in order to stop the flow of information to marketers. But it is critical to think about the type of information that you are leaving behind on web sites that you frequent.
Stop the financial information flow. Start a Pay-Pal account. All credible online retailers accept Pay-Pal. What makes Pay-Pal so appealing? Your financial information is never revealed to the seller. He has no idea about your method of payment. If the seller doesn't know that you have a Visa, then he can't sell the information to a mail list. It's critical to know that information gathered online is sold to others for their offline marketing efforts. Many groups of people are willing to purchase your information.
Once you secure your financial information, it is time to turn toward your offline junk mail. Anytime you make a purchase, all the information is logged into a database. Controlling that information is how you will control the majority of your junk mail problems.
The Do Not Call Registry is a good place to start the offensive attack and begin shutting down the junk. Go to "do not call.gov." Once you register your phone number at this site, the do not call demand never expires. Say goodbye to tele-marketers selling goods or services. It also applies to survey takers. That is the most important reason for getting on the list. Survey takers extract far too much personal information.
Pre screened credit offers are a never-ending source of junk mail and require action to stop them. A trip to opt out pre screen.com,'
