Staying positive in a negative world

We're on the verge of a global crisis. It's going to be a tough challenge to stay optimistic amidst the chaos of the rapidly crashing economy, the decline of social norms and the ongoing wars. The task will sure be hard but it is far from impossible.

You can see it in the news everyday and you cannot close your eyes. A large fraction of the world is in the verge of collapsing because of an economic crisis. It is disheartening and to some of us, it's pretty much devastating. How can one face this problem with positivity without having to resort to "fake optimism"?

The answer is pretty simple: Find the simple joys of life and learn how to embrace them. Easier said than done?

Time for a reality check: It's a sorry state of affairs, sure, but when one sees this much negativity, it's not surprising that the same negativity it will rub off on you. Beware of becoming burdened with unwanted problems that would only make you miserable. It is easy to get lost in the chaos, but if you can manage to find your way, use that small window of opportunity to get your life together.

When I said "find the simple joys of life", I meant that you should seek those wonderful things that you have neglected in the past.

For parents, its the lost time you failed to spend with your children. You may have been swamped with unpaid bills and whatnot, and common sense will tell you that those things are far more important than anything. While that is true, have you ever reflected on how much that took away your will to live? Sometimes, it's good to know that you're still living the life you wanted and not just living for "survival".

It's best that you begin each new day with a happy outlook even if the negativity the world provides is endless.

Many things can really take away the little that's left of your life force. Stress from your job, the increase in gas prices, the news of terrorist threats and whatnot, all of these can reduce a person to a blubbering version of Scrooge. I'm not saying that you should turn a blind eye and live your life just like before, that wouldn't help anyone.

You do know what happens when you give in to your problems right? It would only end with failure and misery, and no one wants that! Relax and take a deep breath. Most of the time, these silent moments of recollection can bear fruit to great things.

Yes, it's true. Take some time to think about what's important in your life right now and think about a way that you can achieve it. All of these stressors can make all your efforts feel futile but when you remain positive, they would all be minor hindrances and you may be able to get that life you've always wanted.

"Simple" things like strolling in the park instead of splurging on an expensive vacation can be both practical and uplifting. You see, with the way things are going today, it's this social interaction with friends and family that could really boost your drive. A positive person, is after all, a succesful one. You should think about that.
