The rain falls slowly, the lights are dim
I sit alone with my thoughts of him
We were together for many a year
And as I remember I wipe a tear
The day you told me what the Doc had said
Filled up my heart with sadness and dread
It seemed my life had ended when you went away
My world crashed around me all in a day
It hurts so much to let you go
The children are crying they miss you so
They are all gone now with families of their own
Grandbabies have come but no Grandad they've know
If you could see you'd be so proud
They ask of you from time to time
When they see a picture or just get you on their mind
I miss you so and wish that you were here
I'm crying now wipping my tears
The years have come and gone
But true love lingers on
And tho I know you only sleep
A little while then we shall meet
