Short stories: The beggar woman

by Poppy Matt

Created on: March 09, 2009

She always stood at that corner in her rags asking for money. A poor helpless soul; who unfortunately had not been hit with the billion dollar stimulus plan as well as hundreds of her kind that were scattered all over the country. Her name was not known except you considered her as the poor soul or beggar that stayed at no 56 Harley Street.

Meanwhile, Rob Sterling a banker always dropped money for this poor soul whenever he drove back home which was 10 flats away from her base. He had earlier learnt how to show some compassion on poor things like that. No one would take her in. they would be too busy thinking about being comfortable during this tempestuous time and they would not be happy to take on another load.

Donning on his jacket, Rob opened his door and crossed out to the street, he didn't need to atop and look at the traffic as there were no cars, not in this storm. He tightened his
