Mylot.com is a paid to post forum home to over 160 000 members, many of who have landed on the site after searching for work at home opportunities. The forum presents a wide range of topics to discuss from home to health, to music and mobiles; anything and everything is covered. Mylot earns its money from contextual advertising and shares this revenue with its users.
Layout
The site has a simple layout with key interests and discussions clearly displayed. It allows you to add friends, websites, links, photographs and videos onto your individual profile page. Once you are friends with someone you can then send them private messages and add comments to their profile page. Social networking via mylot has proved very useful for those promoting their online business ventures.
How to earn at mylot
Principally the main reason for people posting discussions is to earn money. Many users have tried to uncover the earnings algorithm in order to increase their income from this site. But from my experience of the site there are several key ways to earn. Firstly by starting discussions, responding to discussions and following up responses to discussions you have already started you can earn a few cents. I believe the pay per response depends on the total revenue gathered by mylot. Secondly long quality discussions earn more cents than one-liners. Additionally adding an image to your discussion or response gets you an extra cent also.
The cents all add up and after you have done 500 posts you are able to use the cut and paste function on mylot. It was the introduction of this facility that increased my earnings. I used to read new stories, and post the first 6 lines of the news story along with the link and a few lines of my thoughts about the story and earn at least 5 cents per discussion started. If you were able to do 10 an hour that would be 50 cents, still not enough to earn an income.
Possibly the only way to earn a respectable amount of cash through mylot is through referrals. You are paid 25% of your referral earnings, so if you have 10 referrals who all earn a $1 a day you will get $2.50 daily. Not bad for not posting, however do not get your hopes up. Many referrals sign up, post a few responses and then realise it will take eternity to be paid so they say goodbye to mylot.
Payout
Mylot pays monthly on the 15th of every month through paypal if you have made the minimum payout of $10. Many people accuse mylot of being a scam but I can honestly say I have been paid without delay several times by the site.
Other advantages
One of the main advantages of the site is the friendly community who are willing to exchange knowledge as well as give help, advice and provide support to other mylotters. I also found many other money making opportunities through using this site as well as made many friends, some of whom I chat with everyday.
Mylot.com is a fun site where you are sure to meet some friends, learn something new and earn a few cents at the same time. It is most definitely not a get rich site, and those who sit posting all day rarely make more than $2 for 12 hours work. If money is your main aim your time will be better spent somewhere else.
