Sims is one of the most best selling PC games of all time because of it's amazing design flexibility, and the wide range of game play options there are. As well as the huge range of clothing and objects provided by EA Games, we are actually able to create and download pretty much anything, and use it in the game!

Known as custom content creation, this ability is really what makes the Sims 2 such a great game. Not only are we able to make families, flashy houses, decide on everything which our Sims do and now make animals, we can add an unlimited amount of amazing new content from amateur and experienced creators for our games, which make them really interesting. For example, I was able to download a fully functional PS3, Wii, Coca Cola vending machine and even a Lamborghini, in a range of colours!

So, where do we find such items? And how do we know where to get the best? Here is a list of amazing sites which provide new objects for Sims:

As well as www.sims2.com which provides a small amount of free objects plus a huge range of content which can be paid for.

Although a lot of these sites hold back some of the best content for donators, they still allow us to download a brilliant range of new content which are free. It's up to you if you want to donate to the site, but you do get the more if you pay.

The best site for Sims 2 content which I've found is www.modthemsims2.com. This is because it has an enormous collection of objects for every category: clothes, bedroom, bathroom, study, kitchen, living room, dining room, garden, miscellaneous and more.

TO DOWNLOAD CUSTOM CONTENT:

1) First, you must make sure that in you Sims 2 folder, you have a folder named 'Downloads'. If you don't, just make one.

2) Next, select the piece you wish to download from whatever site, and save it into the 'Downloads' folder.

3) Now, go to the folder and extract all files from the piece you just downloaded. If you don't have Vista, you can use programmes like WinRAR. If you have downloaded a 'Sims 2 PACK file', you can just double click it and then click download, then wait for the message to tell you it has been downloaded successfully.

4) Your content should now be ready to be used in the game. If it does not appear the first time you try it out in your game, don't worry. It should come up the second time. If not, write to the creator of the content you have tried to download, to report the problem or ask for specific directions on how to download the object.
