Regardless of the problems we have, Spring's arrival lifts our spirits and fills us with hope for the future. With this new found hope and joy, it's hard not to celebrate in some fashion, so, go ahead and try one of these ten ways to welcome Spring and share your happiness.

1-Attend an Easter Sunrise Service

Try to find an Easter Sunrise service held on a mountaintop and offer up your thanksgiving for both the resurrection of Jesus and the renewing of the sleeping earth, as you watch the sunrise in all its life-giving splendor. Then share what you experienced at Easter Dinner with you loved ones.

2-Have A Family Reunion

Spend some of those gloomy winter evening planning a Family reunion for the Spring. You can order tee shirts with a family tree on them as well as the family name. Send out notices early and ask each family member to bring a covered dish and folding chair. Plan to have the reunion at a park with a pavilion and give directions and planned events such as ball games, contests and entertainment.

3-Host A Block Party

Work with several neighbors to organize a block party and send out invitations or post signs giving details of the party. Have everyone decorate a wagon, bicycle, tricycle, scooter, doll carriage, golf cart or whatever with flowers, balloons, streamers and placards that say, "Welcome Spring." Then have a parade to welcome Spring!

Ask each neighbor to bring a covered dish or take up donations and have a cook out. Play games, play music, dance, have contests, exchange gardening tips, visit and get to know each other.

4-Join The Earth Day Network
