Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Florida captures the imagination and fantasy of childhood with the thrill and showmanship of Disney. The first of the four Disney theme parks to be built in Florida, the Magic Kingdom is 107 acres of whimsical fun divided into seven enchanted lands.
Four modes of transportation convey guests to the Magic Kingdom, the ferryboat on Seven Seas Lagoon, a ride via the monorail system, transport by Disney resort bus, or through the self-park parking lot. Whether arriving by water, rail, or roadway, all guests enter the Magic Kingdom pass through the entranceway underneath the tracks of the Walt Disney World Railroad where a photo opportunity presents itself in front of the landscaped Mickey face.
After a quick bag search and presenting of park tickets, it's through the turn-style and out onto Main Street U.S.A. Immediately to the left is City Hall where visitors can pick up a park map, obtain assistance for guests with disabilities, or even get a little help making dining reservations.
Main Street U.S.A.
This shop-lined street is not only home to several unique shops like Mickey's Star Traders but also some of the best dining in the Magic Kingdom. To dine with Disney characters like Winnie the Pooh and friends, secure a reservation for the buffet at the Crystal Palace, located at the far left end of Main Street. If a lush pastry and rich cup of coffee sounds good, then stop by the Main Street Bakery. For lunch and dinner options, visitors can choose from Tony's Town Square Restaurant, The Plaza Restaurant, or even Casey's Corner for a traditional American hot dog. After a bite to eat at Casey's, don't forget to take a picture with his likeness in front of the eatery. For dessert or a treat before the afternoon parade, the best bet is a waffle cone full of creamy ice cream from the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor.
At the end of Main Street stand two iconic Disney images, the bronze statue "Partners" (Walt Disney with Mickey Mouse) and the most recognizable Disney park image, the magnificent Cinderella's Castle. First-timer or veteran, taking a moment to indulge in the beauty of the Castle is a must. Pictures and video do not do it justice so go ahead and stare, gawk, and be amazed at the beautiful centerpiece of the Magic Kingdom.
The Magic Kingdom's various lands branch out like the spokes of a wheel from the center that is the "Partners" statue. From this hub, visitors can choose a path into one the wonderful lands of the
