Ive been home schooled for almost two years now so I speak from experience

My answer is simple YES, you'll find that public school students will usually be to concerned with other things like being popular or school work, where as a home school kids like me usually cares more about learning and helping siblings etc.

I think in a way public school neglects sibling relationships which can have advantages and disadvantages, advantages are minimal though as the only advantages i can think of is better behavior and stronger peer growth

As i mentioned i am home schooled myself and i have noticed that I want to help my siblings more and help them learn, it really all depends on the way home school kids are treated if separated from siblings I don't think the siblings will relate as well as they would if they where encouraged to learn together.

I think parents should encourage siblings to learn together because when they are older you don't want your kids to be rivals you want them to be able to help each other out when they are in trouble, you want your kid to be thoughtful and forgiving and that is usually learned from siblings, yes peers are good but they are not family they wont sacrifice as much as a sibling or parent would for their family. of course there will always be times that you will need to discipline your kids as they learn so much from siblings but this is an advantage not a disadvantage. Kids in public schools will sometimes even discourage their peer from helping or speaking to their sibling, you see it everywhere these days kids will ignore their brothers and sisters for the sake of being cool, the amount of peer pressure is huge and dangerous and leads to nothing but pain in the long run. there are many ways siblings relate more in home school than public school for example home-schooled children will ask their brothers and sisters for help, also instead of getting a negative self image from peers home-schooled kids learn self worth and a positive attitude

Some people debate that homeschooled kids need their peers to grow as a person and say homeschooling is anti social i disagree homeschool kids learn family values, something that is missing in public schools

In my opinion siblings relate almost 100% better in a homechool environment and in the long run i think its a better option.

I hope this helps unsure parents and interested reader.
