The alarm clock goes off and you get up, shower, shave and get your morning java. You walk out to the car and get ready for another day at work. It seems like that's all you ever do. That may be what your family is thinking as well, that is, if you had time to build a family. There comes a time that we have to sit back and take a long hard look at what we are doing with our lives. Isn't there something wrong with a world that forces us to spend more time with strangers than with the people we love?
The costs of having a permanent job can be very high. The economy is making it even harder for people to say no every now and then to over time. The bills have to be paid so work is a necessary thing. It isn't something that we can do when the mood strikes. Balancing things can be a little tricky.
Dating/Marriage
Dating can be nearly impossible when you have a full-time career. You can spend far more than the scheduled eight-hour shift working. When you do have time off, you probably just want to go home and relax. By the time you get something for dinner, get your shower and clean the house, it can be 10 or 11 o'clock at night. You find yourself exhausted and ready to go to bed. Where exactly would you find time to meet someone, let alone go out on a date?
If you are one of the fortunate people, you have already found your life's mate. This is the person that you want to be with for the rest of you life. The only problem is that you can't find any time to spend with your spouse. Between the job and the business meetings there is no time left.
A marriage can suffer a tragic end when your work life gets in the way. Divorce can enter the picture even though the only thing you were trying to do is make things better for you and your family.
Children
People bring children into the world and then don't have any time for them. What's even worse is that you are tired and grouchy. The easiest people to take that out on are your children. It is unlikely if you are part of the workforce, that you don't have a lot of stress on you. Stress spills over to your family and can make it impossible for them to want to be around you.
Children's needs also get lost along the way. They need their parents in their lives. Kid's need the guidance that you have to offer. They need their parents to attend their games and school plays. Children gain important life lessons when they have parents who are involved in their lives. This includes their self-esteem, which needs to be built from a very early
