I cannot answer this question right off, but I feel that we are all entitled to enhance our beauty. After all, there are different ways to do this to make us feel better about ourselves. Some dye there hair, some go to tanning beds. To me, wearing makeup is just another way to feel and look one's best at times or during big events such as weddings, first day at work, etc. There are many points to be made when talking about attractiveness or enhancing beauty.
1. It's not just women who try to look their best.
Men also try to look their best, and some even wear makeup. They shave at certain times, wear cologne, and go to the gym to work out (not all men do this or feel the pressure to). It's just the same for women; we feel pressure to look or be a certain way sometimes. Part of wearing makeup is just fun and is a way for teenagers to be girly and all that. It can be looked at as a joy of being a woman being able to play with makeup and hair stuff and not feel like we are being sissies. I can remember when the most popular girl of my school once had a sleep over and we all did our hair and had fun just playing with makeup in caboodles. It was so much fun, and I'm sure guys have their things to do together.
2. I have no proof that makeup is harmful to the skin, and if she wants to make the best first impression, wearing some makeup won't hurt anything.
Let me say this however, I have heard that some makeup does harm skin. Now, having no evidence of this myself, I cannot really say it is true. It's been said tanning beds are harmful, and don't hair perms have chemicals in them, too? Plenty of people claim that makeup is the worse thing a woman can do to her skin, but as long as a woman takes care of her skin she should be fine. It actually protects skin from sunburn, too.
Sure, if a woman is on a first date and wants to wear makeup to impress the guy, that is fine in my opinion. The issue is to not be deceptive with it and overdo it, because he's sure to see her without any on in the future-if they stay together, that is. However, even if a woman likes to go for the extreme look, so be it. It really is her life, and she deserves to fix up and be sparkly if she wants. My point is that it can be used to enhance, not change beauty. It's really not meant to change anything to begin with. So, makeup is a good way to even out skin tone, while not dramatically changing one's appearance.
I don't know if this is true or not, but it is said that women age quicker than men do. Some women age sooner than others. In short, makeup can be another way to hide wrinkles and age spots. An older lady can still look and feel her best when attending dinners, weddings, etc. All women deserve to feel confident, even if it's just for themselves.
Don't get me wrong, nothing is wrong with being natural and going without any makeup. It should be up to the person, to decide though. Let's face it. Much emphasis is placed on a woman's appearance, and she should have the tools to enhance it if she wants. A woman's beauty is therefore only enhanced with makeup, and she is attractive with or without makeup.
