Features of Super Paper Mario for Nintendo Wii

Super Paper Mario is an exciting game for Nintendo Wii. The story starts out when Mario and Luigi are in their house hoping for something exciting and new to happen. Then they get a message from Toad that Princess Peach has been captured. Mario and Luigi assume that Bowser has taken the princess once again, however when they arrive at his castle, they find out that is not what happened. Instead, they discover that a character named Count Bleck is the one who took the princess.

When Count Bleck comes to Bowser's castle, he captures everyone except for Mario and brings them to his castle. He then forces Bowser and Princess Peach to marry which causes the chaos heart to appear and a void forms in the sky which will destroy all worlds if it grows large enough. It is Mario's job to stop the void from growing larger, save his friends, and defeat Count Bleck.

You start the game in a place called Flipside where a character named Merlon tells you about what Count Bleck has planned and how you have to stop him before the void destroys all of the worlds. He tells you that you need to collect eight pure hearts to destroy the chaos heart and that you need to find the other three heroes to help you on your journey. You also meet a Pixl named Tippi who guides you to the first heart pillar for you to place your first pure heart and comes with you to help you on your adventure.

During the game you can collect items to help you later on. For example, you might get items that restore your health, or items that can be used as weapons against enemies. Each character has his or her own special ability such as Mario's ability of flipping from 2D to 3D. There are also a variety of Pixls that you can find which help you by giving you abilities such as throwing objects or flipping sideways to become invisible. Tippi can be used by pointing the Wii remote toward the screen so that you can see hidden objects.

I would rate this game 4 out of 5 stars. It has great graphics and a variety of backgrounds and scenery. The music goes along great with the mood of each level. All of the characters have unique personalities. However, it may be a bit annoying when you have to keep reading the script every time you get game over. I especially found this annoying when I had to battle the bosses that were difficult to beat.
