So imagine yourself in the middle of a city. It's big and expansive. You are there with three of your best friends. Oh, and the city is also filled with zombies.
The new game for the Xbox 360 that everyones talking about around the water cooler is known as Left 4 Dead. Grab three of your best friends and fight for you life as zombies come at you from every angle. With ten different guns at your disposal and a handful of projectiles such as pipe bombs and Molotov's fend off the relentless undead hordes of flesh eating zombies. The game takes a whole new look at survival horror genre games and it puts you right in the middle of the action. Valve (the creator of this fantastically put together masterpiece of a game) has really done itself this time; with an all new respawn system zombies never respawn in the same place twice. This means if you play one of the four missions all the way through and then go back and replay it all the way through for a second time your entire game play experience will be different.
In addition to your average run of the mill zombie, Valve has given us, the gaming community, a special treat, things that Valve calls "Special Infected" There are many types of these special infected that you will encounter during your game play. One of the more common special infected is know as The Hunter. These zombies are easily spotted because of the dark hooded jacket that they wear and the fact that they crawl on all fours everywhere. You cannot see their faces because of the Shadow casting hood. These zombies will jump at you from on top of tall buildings and from out of dark corners and pin you to the ground and slash and tear at our chest taking massive chunks of your health away and the only thing that you can do is sit there in horror as your character slowly dies until one of your teammates comes and knocks the creature off. As terrifying as that is, that is only one of five types of special infected that you will have to work together as a team to defeat on your path to survival. The others have names such as The Smoker, The Witch, The Tank, and The Boomer. All of which have just as terrifying and just as deadly attacks to unleash upon the survivors.
If you do not have Xbox Live then you will miss out on some of this games best features that allow you the player to control zombies such as The Hunter and unleash chaos as you plan your attack on helpless victims, but the game is still worth the price r all of the hours of game play that you will receive. The game has amazing graphics, and the music random music that is special for each player taking things like stress levels and amounts of health into play. This game definitely deserves to be game of the year, and is not a game to be missed.
