Why do charities still exist? Because people give time, money and their expertise to them, not just to earn a living from it but to earn moral happiness knowing they're helping others, benefiting both parties involved. Random acts of kindness can be very inspirational so get out there and do some of these easy, healthy acts of kindness to make a small difference in the world that is very much appreciated by all.
GIVE BLOOD - This is a very important act as it can be life saving for others and ultimately very easy to do for the donator.
BUY EXTRA - Often people don't give money to homeless people as they are worried they will not use it wisely but why not buy an extra shirt or an extra cup of coffee next time you go to the shops and give it to them. This way you know it will help out and they will feel touched.
OFFER ASSISSTANCE - Elderly people often need assistance, so help carry their groceries to the car or help them cross the road. They will be very grateful for it.
WORK AT A CHARITY - Rather than watching an hour of television, get out and do some charity work. Whether it be for a group at a set venue or helping your next door neighbor mow their lawn, help out!
GIVE SOMEONE A HUG - Giving a friend a hug will bring a smile to their face and know they are loved by you. Its easy and quick to do so don't hold back.
SMILE - The easiest, yet sometimes most difficult thing to do is smile. When you're walking down the street, smile at someone who looks stressed or unhappy and it will cheer them up and also make you smile.
Kindness can bring a sense of richness and fulfillment to our lives, and as a bonus, promote good health and longevity. One of the most pleasurable human acts, kindness, is one of the healthiest things you can do for yourself and others as it improves your physical state making you happier and therefore bring internal health benefits let alone the mental satisfaction. This is not the only benefit, as the receiver of the kindness act also feels loved, cared for and special, improving their mental well-being and in certain cases physical state.
It feels good to do something nice for someone. Likewise, it feels good when someone does something kind for us. It's a win win situation either way you look at it!
