Helium is a wonderful site full of opportunities for writers. It does not matter if you are new, intermediate, or expert. There is something for everyone. If you know something about anything, you can write it then find the topic that matches. If the topic is not there, then you can use "submit a topic" to give Helium your ideas. However, in the end, you have to sit down and write. Here are some writing tips that might help in your journey on Helium:
1. Browse the topics:
Browsing topics is a wonderful way to figure out what to write. Many times, you might find articles that do not suit the topic or do not explain well. This is your opportunity to write an article. Better or worse, you still can write and tell people what you think or feel.
You may also take a different stance from the stance that the current articles are taking. Alternatively, you might know something that the other writers have not touched on. This is a wonderful way to be noticed, too.
Sometimes, what you see in an article can help you on personal writing projects. It can also help with other topics that you want to work on. On the other hand, it can give you ideas for new topics.
2. Make use of what is available.
This is a big one. Did you know that there is an area in the forums for every channel on Helium? Did you know that you could network with other writers in there? Or you can get your article critiqued free by people like yourself. You can even add your input on other articles. You can even make friends through helium. Sometimes it can be nice to have someone to talk to who understands your writing passion.
There is a mentor program available to new writers. They offer private critiques and will help you learn how to work on helium. You can also contact any stew that you see for advice and help.
3. Do not plagiarize.
People work hard to put up what they know so that others can learn from it. True writers are people who never stop learning. Only a looser would take someone else's work and take credit for it. A person who plagiarizes can be arrested and taken to federal court. In many cases, a person who copies someone else's work can go to prison or be fined.
4. Be professional
Professionalism is necessary for Helium users. Helium is a wonderful site and must be respected. By being professional in your work, you are respecting Helium. The more professional you are also will cause people to notice your work and take you seriously. This in turn will boost ratings, earnings, and interest in your work.
5. Respect the people who come to Helium to learn.
People come to helium on a daily basis to learn something. They do not want to be insulted because someone decides that they just have to use foul language to express themselves. They do not want to be called an idiot, either.
While many of the users to helium are adults, there are young adults and children who come on the site as well. They come in search of information for reports or essays. Please remember that Helium is available to their eyes, too. A good way to make sure you stick to that part of the content is to ask if you would be ok with your kids seeing your work.
In Conclusion
In the end, you will hear many tips from people. Some of them might work for you. Some might not. It is ok to choose what works for you. Even if its not listed on someone else's article. Listen to yourself, your instinct, your gut, and your heart and you will do just fine.
