Poetry: Winter

by Dana Farrell

Created on: March 06, 2009

~Out the Window~

The still drops of the stiff water

tug at the branches with all their might.

Powdered white blankets

cover the hard grass.

Rigor mortis has set in.

The pathways, though clear

are deceptively slick.

And I

sit inside,

Feeling just as cold,

just as hopeless

as the life that is just barely hanging on

out the window.
